AI Detector

Paste text and see an AI-likelihood-style estimate.

0 / 4000

This is a quick, probabilistic estimate from a language model—not a scan of Turnitin, GPTZero, or other third-party detectors. Use it to guide edits, not as evidence in academic or legal disputes.

How the AI detector works

What it checks

Paste between 20 and 4,000 characters. A language model reads the text and looks for patterns common in AI-written prose, such as very even sentence length, predictable word choices and generic phrasing.

How to check a text for AI, step by step

Paste 20 to 4,000 characters and press the check button. In a few seconds you see how much of the text reads as AI-written and how much as human-written. If the AI score is high, rewrite the most generic sentences in your own words or with our AI Humanizer, then check again.

How to read the result

You get an AI score and a human score in percent, plus a verdict: likely AI, mixed or likely human. Mixed means the text shows both kinds of signals, which is common when a person has edited an AI draft.

Limits

The result is an estimate, not proof. It does not check Turnitin, GPTZero or any other detector or database, and short texts give less reliable results. Use it to decide what to rewrite, not to judge someone else’s work.

Who uses an AI checker

Students checking an essay before they hand it in. Teachers and editors who want a quick second opinion. Writers, marketers and SEO teams checking freelance texts or ChatGPT drafts before they publish.

Why AI detectors disagree

Each detector is trained on different texts and uses its own thresholds, so the same text can score 30% in one tool and 70% in another. Treat any single score as a hint: longer texts and more than one check give a steadier picture.

Frequently asked questions

Is this AI detector 100% accurate?

No honest detector is. This tool uses a language model to estimate patterns associated with AI-generated prose. Treat the score as a hint for editing, not proof for academic or legal decisions.

Does this scan against Turnitin, GPTZero, or Copyleaks?

No. It does not query external detector APIs or institutional databases. It is a single fast analysis meant for personal drafting workflows.

Is my text stored?

Text is sent to our server for the analysis request and is not stored for training. See our privacy policy for full details.

What should I do if my draft looks “too AI”?

Try rewriting in your own words, vary sentence length, add specific examples only you know, then run our AI Humanizer tool if you want a cleaner human tone.

How long can my input be?

Between 20 and 4,000 characters per run on the web, matching our other writing tools.
